Alumni Panel 2020: Life After Graduation

SPOOKY SEASON IS HERE, but don’t be spooked by CSA’s annual Alumni Panel on Friday, October 30th, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM EST. Four CSA Alumni will be tuning in to Zoom THIS Friday to give you all an EXCLUSIVE rundown of their experiences at Western and talk about their time on CSA. Dale Zhang

Undergraduate Program: HBA (2010) from the Ivey Business School

Involvement with CSA: 2008/09 VP Finance, 2009/10 Senior Advisor

Current: Managing Director and Founding Member of Trikon Asset Management

Dale Zhang is a Managing Director and Founding Member of Trikon Asset Management, a long-short fundamentally driven hedge fund based in Hong Kong. Prior to Trikon, he was an Analyst at JANA Partners covering opportunities as a generalist with a focus on global TMT and consumer. Before working at JANA partners, he was a Senior Analyst at Active Owners Fund in New York and a Private Equity Associate at The Gores Group in Los Angeles. Dale started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse. He received an HBA from Ivey Business School where he graduated as an Ivey Scholar and made the Dean’s List for all four years. He currently lives in Hong Kong with his wife and dog.

Darien Pun

Undergraduate Program: HBA (2015) from the Ivey Business School

Graduate Program: Juris Doctor (2018) from the University of Chicago

Involvement with CSA: President 2014-2015

Current: Associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP

Darien is a past CSA president from 2014-2015 and received a B.A. from the Ivey Business School. He also received a J.D. from the University of Chicago in 2018, where he served both as a comments editor of the Journal of International Law, under which he published “Rethinking Espionage in the Modern Era”, and the President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. He currently practices as an attorney in New York at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP where he represents financial institutions and corporate clients in various matters, including capital market financings, syndicated lending and mergers and acquisitions, and advises on governance, public disclosure and other corporate matters.

Alex Chan

Undergraduate Program: BSc (2018) Honours Specialization in Neuroscience

Involvement with CSA: President 2017-2018

Current: McMaster University Medical School

During his time at Western University, Alex Chan was the president of CSA from 2017-2018. He graduated from Western with a BSc Honours Specialization in Neuroscience. Currently, Alex is in his final year of medical school at McMaster University as a 2021 MD candidate. Additionally, he is the Managing Editor of 2minutemedicine.com, an award-winning news company, and has ongoing research projects at McMaster University and Harvard Medical School.

Michael Tang

Undergraduate Program: HBA (2019) from the Ivey Business School

Involvement with CSA: President 2018-2019

Current: Risk Advisory Consultant at Deloitte

Michael held the role as the 2018-2019 CSA President and is a graduate of the Ivey Business School. After his time at Western, Michael moved on to being a Risk Advisory consultant at Deloitte working as part of the Strategic, Financial and Regulatory Risk team. He has had the opportunity to work with several clients including banks, pension funds and crown corporations. Additionally, Michael also has experience working as an intern in Operational Risk at Deloitte, where he managed technology system controls. In the future, Michael hopes to work with financial services regulators to promote innovation and positive social impact in this industry.
